A bit about Sean and his Team...
Sean’s Lawn N’ Garden Services, LLC was founded in 2007 by Upper Valley native Sean Norton. Sean loves to work and be outdoors, whether landscaping a client’s property or teaching Snowsports at the Dartmouth Skiway.
Longstanding clients may recall Sean arriving in his first landscaping truck, trailering his first riding mower. A rigorous academic and practical landscape education is part of “doing it right”. Sean holds a Landscape Contracting Degree from the University of Massachusetts’ Stockbridge School, one of the top landscape schools in the country. After college, Sean gained hands-on experience working full time for one of the largest Upper Valley landscape businesses as well as a fine gardening company. He honed his commitment to top quality work and top-notch customer service. He experienced first hand the strong work ethic of local crews. After work and on weekends, he tended his own clients’ lawns and gardens.
In 2014, Sean took his growing business full time. Today, Sean’s Lawn N’ Garden Services offers landscaping, property maintenance and fine gardening services primarily in these Upper Valley communities: Hanover, Lyme, Orford, Norwich, Thetford, Fairlee, Bradford and Piermont. Sean's Upper Valley crew share his commitment to doing your job right.

That first mower and truck are long gone. Today, top quality, professional mowing and landscape equipment include Exmark mowers suited to varying Upper Valley terrain and sizable properties, plus a New Holland tractor and other gear. White trucks feature the deep green company logo. Sean and his staff wear bright green shirts.
In winter, you will find Sean (and most of his landscape crew) at the Dartmouth Skiway, where he is the Snowsports School Director. You’ll find his crew running the lifts, teaching snowsports or enjoying a run down Howie Chivers or Worden’s Schuss.
Keeping the Team local!
Fine Gardening Crew:
Helen: Garden Crew Lead, Helen has been working for Sean for over 10 seasons. With an extensive knowledge of plants and the region, Helen will make sure your gardens are looking their best. Helen is currently working on obtaining her Master Gardener Certification. When Helen is not working in your gardens she enjoys sailing on her boat on Lake Champlain, biking, skiing, spending time with her family and volunteering at Zack’s Place where her daughter Erin spends most her time. Fun fact, Helen is also Sean’s mother.
Erin: Hello! My name is Erin and I am thrilled to have joined the SLAGS team for my 3rd season. An Upper Valley native, I enjoy all the best of a New England summer: swimming, hiking and camping. After a thru hike of the Appalachian Trail a couple years back, I knew I needed to have my hands in the dirt and be under open skies again. I am thankful for all of the beautiful gardens and homes I have tended so far and look forward to growing in this field (pun intended)!
Madi: Hi! I’m so excited to be apart of SLAGS for my 2nd season while I am home for the summer from college. I have lived in Vermont my whole life and have always enjoyed the various activities that the great outdoors has to offer in the upper valley. I love working in different gardens and seeing how spaces transform for the better!
Property Maintenance Crew:
Brian: Brian is another local that enjoys any job that keeps him outside. He loves being with his family, and you may catch him singing while he mows your lawn. In the winter you can find Brian outside at the Dartmouth Skiway, on or off the clock. Brian has been with us for 2 seasons.
Graham: Graham grew up in New Hampshire. He enjoys being outside, skiing and hiking, and making snow. In the winter Graham works as a snowmaker at the Dartmouth Skiway. This is Graham’s first season with SLAGS.
“Thanks for the great job! I’m very pleased to have my yard looking better again. You and your crew are a cut above (pun intended!)
